Super Blue Blood Moon

The moon rose right in front of the house this evening. A spectacular sight and a rare treat. This photo was taken from my garden. It has been dubbed a Super Blue Blood Moon.

A blue moon is the name given to the second full moon in one calendar month. Tonight is also  a supermoon, which occurs when a full moon is at the point in its orbit closest to Earth, making it appear larger and brighter. In some parts of the world it is also a blood moon. In my shot the moon is partially behind the clouds but is still lighting up the clouds and the sea.
