Yesterday I left Skye for the day for the three hour drive to Inverness airport as Tim was flying back south. I belong to a facebook group called ‘Scotland by the Roadside’ and had seen regular postings of dolphins doing acrobatic jumps out of the water at Chanonry Point in the Moray Firth. The point is close to Inverness so we allowed some extra time to stop there in the hope of seeing the dolphins for ourselves. The dolphins chase the fish in the currents just a few yards out to sea and I had read that the best chance of seeing them was on a rising tide. Sure enough the dolphins were there! Not jumping, but close to the shore, swimming in the churned up water a few yards out from the beach. I, of course was more interested in photographing the people photographing the dolphins than I was in photographing the dolphins themselves!
