Waternish Point

Waternish Point is at the very tip of the Waternish Peninsula. It’s a two hour walk from the end of the Waternish road so doesn’t attract too many visitors. Yesterday evening we had the point to ourselves. We spent a few happy hours watching the seals and birds. We were also hoping to see whales as it is a good place for whale watching. Towards the end of the evening I heard a noise out at sea and turned to catch a glimpse of a whale hump and fin for a couple of seconds before it disappeared under the water. A few times we heard the whales blow as they came to the surface and a couple of times caught a quick glimpse of them. It was another beautiful evening on Skye. The photo is of Tim watching a seal, watching him!
