Yesterday evening I drove to Portree to meet my friend Suzy. She had invited me to join her and a group of ladies to complete a slightly late summer solstice walk to Rubha Hunish, the most northerly point in Skye. On my way to Portree I passed this man and his two sons having a barbecue by the roadside on the Waternish Road. I stopped to ask if I could take a few photos of them and explained that I was working on a project about people enjoying the natural landscape on Skye. They were happy to be photographed and told me that they don’t live on Skye but the man grew up in Inverness and knew Skye very well.
