Yesterday evening I walked with Sam to Oronsay. The island is cut off about 2 hours either side of high tide. The causeway was still covered when we arrived so we spent a happy hour or so sitting watching the changing scene and listening to the seabirds. It was the most perfect evening, warm, with a lovely soft breeze. As soon as we could we walked across to Oronsay. The water was running off the newly exposed causeway creating these amazing patterns in the sand. We made it to the top of Oronsay. The two scenes below are the covered causeway when we arrived and the exposed causeway taken on the way back about an hour later.
A perfect walk on a perfect evening. Skye weather doesn’t get any better than this!
